Who are we then?
Male-Out is an HIV and STI prevention service offering free, confidential advice and support for gay and bisexual and any other men who have sex with men. Male-Out is a part of SB&BP.
We will provide you with any of the information, training and resources you feel you need to help decide sexual choices that are informed and right for you, so the sexual activity you negotiate with others is what you want rather than what the other person wants.
Whether you just want to chat, talk over an issue, free condoms or lube, a copy of the Pink Paper, or want to suggest a service we should provide..... contact us!
What do we offer in Shropshire?
- Confidential information, advice and support on personal sexual issues, sexual behaviour, sexual infections, safer sex and other related issues.
- Access by e-mail, telephone or face to face at our base in Shrewsbury, or via Male-Out's outreach team on the gay scene in both Shrewsbury and Telford, and through internet gay chat rooms used by Shropshire men.
- Free condoms and lube
- Copies of the Pink Paper (also distributed to the libraries with magazine/reference sections and various gay friendly venues across the county).
- Leaflets covering a variety of topics.
- Workshops for bisexual/gay men on various issues, eg: coming out; how to ask for the sex you want; being married and gay or bisexual; living sexually with HIV; assertiveness, etc.
- Addressing issues affecting young people through the SSHAW schools programme in Shropshire, eg: homophobic bullying, sexuality, HIV and STIs, condom use, developing safer sex, etc.
